Self-cleaning glass from the inkjet printer for
The range of possible applications for the inkjet printer has expanded enormously in recent years. Fars News reported as now, researchers have discovered another use, as in Iran. It gives an effect of self-cleaning glass before it is used for the construction of windows in high buildings.
These skills gets the glass by being printed with a special ink. It consists of nanoparticles based on titanium dioxide. Authors are researchers at the Iranian Institute for Color Science and Technology under the direction of Dr. Maryam Hosseinizari. They will replace the previously applied to coat glass screen printing. The result is that less material needs to be used for the self-cleaning coating.
One problem is still in the direct use of pigments in this particular printer ink. There will have to the demands on the uniform distribution of the coating and the stability are met. Also, the pigment size to be extremely small, so that the pumping technique of the printing units and the nozzles of the print heads are not clogged. The search for a suitable synthesis method is currently still in full swing.
