The printer manufacturer Lexmark may use a firmware change - and it has been used - the recycled toner cartridges out of the market! The same applies to identical Dell and IBM laser printers.

On 12 January 2011 confirmed the Office of Fair Trading and the Trading Standards Institute in the United Kingdom that complaints are followed, according to which Lexmark has enabled a firmware change, locks the remanufactured toner cartridges (Remanufactured Toner) from alternative suppliers of these printers.

Consumers who were previously happy with remanufactured toner cartridges have been tempted to accept a firmware upgrade that you promised to improve the printer! Now these customers are forced to use AUSCHSCHLIEßLICH Lexmark genuine toner! End-users have found that the firmware Updgrade is irreversible and the printer only with their original Lexmark cartridges work. Consumer inscribedable this approach as anti-competitive and restrictive trade practices. THEREFORE Attention This could happen to you. Make your Lexmark, Dell, or IBM printer no firmware update, but you deny this? Just so you can continue to print with cheap and environmentally friendly rebuild toners!

A similar firmware change has been carried out on some Samsung laser printers, even so, many customers print only with original toners.
